Converse Cleaning Techniques To Avoid
When it comes to cleaning white converse, the first thing that springs to mind is to throw your dirty sneakers in the washing machine. It can be a little bit of an effort cleaning your shoes, especially when you’ve just got back from a long day at the skatepark. Although this maybe easy, speaking from experience it is not always the best option. Washing machines will certainly get the mud and dirt out of your converse however it could have a few consequences. Firstly the use of washing powder or washing tablets can discolor your converse. By discolor we mean your sneakers could turn off-white and not return to that pearly white that your converse once were. Secondly the high temperatures of your washing machine could potentially change the shape of your sneaker. The increased temperatures can cause the sole of the shoe to bend which is something you don’t want. If you are reading this and your converse are coloured e.g black, the washing machine could slightly fade the color. Taking all of the above into account, we advise you not to use a washing machine to clean your converse. Be sure to stay well clear of bleach, like washing tablets bleach can discolor your vans and turn them yellow. This is not a great look.
